In 1974, Georges Pithois purchased a Citroën DS 23 Pallas. This car embodied the pinnacle of French automotive innovation. With its futuristic silhouette, unparalleled comfort, and technology ahead of its time, the DS quickly became much more than just a car—it was a true symbol of modernity and elegance.
The DS Pallas is one of those legendary cars that single-handedly embody the elegance and boldness of French design. A true symbol of an era, it has also been part of several defining moments in the company’s history.
In 1977, an unusual episode was added to its history: parked in front of Georges Pithois’s home, the DS had its… seats stolen. A surprising anecdote that, almost unwittingly, attests to the legendary comfort of its seats.
But beyond the memories, the DS was also a true tool for expansion. Jean-Claude Fourmon used it to travel the roads of Europe, notably all the way to Bath, England, with cases of Joseph Perrier Champagne in the trunk. From restaurant to restaurant, he met with restaurateurs to introduce them to the house’s cuvées.
More than just a car, the DS Pallas has thus become a quiet witness to the house’s history, weaving together family anecdotes, travels, and the growth of Joseph Perrier Champagne.
